Lori

Lori Webber Hutchinson

Our beautiful radiant gallant ever-loving forgiving energetic friend Lori slipped from this world to the next yesterday evening shortly after 7pm.  It is hard to imagine all of the good she left in her wake . . . all of the encouraging words, all of the energetic engagement, all of the friendships, all of the kindnesses.

We will celebrate her life and mourn her loss on the afternoon of February 13 here in Sonoma, details to follow soon.

With love to you all, Bill and Family

We were shocked to know that Lori has left this world. Only half a year ago you were here with us. Lori was so energetic and smiling as always. My tears are falling heavily while writing this.
A few days ago I was planning to come to you and try to help you. Now everything is too late.
I’ll always remember her and the things we did together.
Courage to you. You are on our minds.

We are having a hard time imagining the world without her with you. Our thoughts are with you as you face this transition. We take solace in the fact that she led a good life here in conscious awareness that will serve her in her transition.

  23. Dear Bill,

Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences on Lori’s passing. I only met her that once, when you and she came to visit us here on Cape Cod amidst the chaos of our family gathering. But it was very clear to me that you, like me, are one of the truly lucky ones. You found that special person to share your life with, and then had her by your side through all the amazing joys and challenges that decades of family life, career and living in this world bring. Please take comfort in knowing that her pain is over, that time will soften the ache of your loss, and what will remain will be the memories and extended family of a wonderful marriage. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rick

  25. Before I even created a category, Lori had entered it. She was my trail buddy. That’s a real special designation. There were innumerable experiences through many years, but for us alone, we walked on Thurs. morning for years and we breathed in the freshness of a new day while letting our feet fall softly on God’s glorious creation. Of course we solved all the problems of the world, except our own, which we tried to solve together. We shared our hearts generously and I will always be blessed and stay in constant gratitude for what was. The true gift of friendship is grace by the name of Lori. Praise God.

  32. Bill,
So sad to hear of Lori’s passing. While we only connected during the 50th reunion weekend (and probably at the 25th) both Kay and I thought Lori and you looked like the best preserved couple there. She gave no hints of the storm within. What a gracious lady. Hard not to tear up reading the thoughtful comments of your friends and learning more about her.
You are both in our thoughts and prayers.

  36. Dear Bill,

I am deeply saddened to hear of Lori’s passing. I cannot believe she is gone. She was the most amazing friend, mentor, and professional. I still remember the day I met her in 2008. I was with Mandarin Oriental at the time, and she drove down to our offices in San Francisco to meet me. We were supposed to talk about our recruitment needs for spas, and although we did do that, we talked about so much more. I felt a connection with her from the beginning, and over the years it blossomed into a lovely friendship.

Amongst all the wonderful things about her, is that she always had thoughtful and touching details. The day we met, she gave me a bottle of wine from Sonoma, so that I could get better acquainted with my new surroundings in San Francisco. At another meeting, she gave me a bottle of olive oil from your garden. A couple of years ago I was working on a project in Mexico, and she met with me and my colleagues for lunch, and wore a scarf made by Pineda Covalin, a prominent Mexican designer. She invited me to your home, to get me up to wine country. Years later, you both had me over when a friend was visiting. She provided me guidance, advice, and incredible kindness.

We kept in touch throughout the years, and no matter the time, day, or where in the world she was, she always wrote back or called back promptly. She listened, she was supportive, she was loving, she was caring, she was genuine, and she was a unique soul. I will miss her tremendously.

My most heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

  37. Dear Uncle Bill-

I wanted to send you quick note. While we have not spoken, my thoughts are constantly with you all. I cannot express how truly sorry I am for your loss. Aunt Lori was just an amazing person and so very special to all of us. My heart breaks just thinking she is not with us. To me she was more than “just an Aunt”. She was someone that brought laughter and love to every family gathering. I loved discussing crafting and jewelry with her, her talents were beyond incredible. She had a light from within that just was always bursting and you couldn’t help but notice and it encouraged you to shine a little brighter as well. You two were an example to us all of a what being married to your best friend meant. Your travels and adventures together were a joy to follow. While Aunt Lori is physically not with us, she will always be with us. She has given us all an example of how to be kind and loving, how to be creative and adventurous. I will miss her red lipstick, her charades and her joy of life.

Love you very much and cannot tell you how many hugs we are sending your way.

    xoxo T

  38. Dear Bill, kate and Tucker,We are so sad to learn that Lori has passed on,and cannot imagine your loss. But you so,lovingly and painfully described the pain and nausea that seemed to be her constant companion. I am sure the loving care you gave Lori helped her so much. We pray that you all will find peace and consolation that she is out of pain. It’s won’t be easy, she was the definition of the word grace.
    We will never forget her.
